According to the report, loopholes for driving down wages through deductions for housing have been vastly expanded, and the precarious insurance status has been extended from 70 to 90 days of employment. Workers in agriculture, horticulture, environmental, and forestry professions experience on a daily basis how exploitative and destructive the existing economic system is. Every year, people die doing this work. Many struggle with precarious contracts, wage dumping, and discrimination, especially our migrant comrades. While agricultural workers in other regions of the world experience hunger, violence, and displacement, the fruits of these conditions end up in our supermarkets.
